I believe that automation, *when done right*, can truely help our society to realize the incredible human potential.
Currently I work at Aurora Innovation where I lead a team to build a scalable Fault Management System for Perception Models. This helps in achieving fail-safe safety claim for autonomous vehicles.
For any automated system, it is important to explicitly model mitigations for known and unknown failure modes and make the AI robust against them. Unfortunatly, conventionally adopted solutions and processes do not scale well to AI centric systems. This requires us to invent novel approches to build safe AI based automation.
I am inspired by the task of realizing theory into practice and effectively making automation safe for everyone.
